Ama Simons, MASc

In the Biomedic.AI Lab, Ama researched trust in AI with a focus on the technical robustness and safety of the artificial intelligence systems. She studied the robustness of machine learning algorithms to changes in the wearable devices that recorded input data. Her work involved 1) collecting accelerometer data from two different wearable devices, 2) using the data to train machine learning models 3) deploying machine learning models on data that was recorded from the wearable device that did not record the training data. When she wasn’t walking up and down her stairs collecting accelerometer data, she enjoyed going on long walks and enjoying the sun!
